Northwest Arkansas is gearing up for summer, and as the warm weather continues to make its way into the Ozarks, the local pools and aquatic centers in the area are gearing up to open as well.  If you’re already compiling a list of ways to keep you and your family busy (and cool!) this summer, let us here at Lewis Ford in Fayetteville help you out with a few ideas and opening dates for some of the local places around NWA to swim. You can load up the crew in your new Ford Bronco, since it IS an SUV made to withstand adventuring and getting wet, and decide just where you’d like to go to cool off.  You can take advantage of the USB ports and 8" display screen on the way, and the easy to clean interior after your day of splashy fun.

In Bentonville, AR: You have a few choices here in this city that’s just a quick trip up the interstate from Lewis Ford Sales in Fayetteville, AR.  One choice is the Fountains at Lawrence Plaza (located on NE A St in Bentonville), a fun splash pad right in downtown Bentonville that’s within walking distance of all the fantastic local restaurants, attractions, and museums like Crystal Bridges that this bustling area has to offer.  Another option is the Melvin Ford Aquatic Center (located on NE Memorial Park Square), which offers both open swim and lap swim times that are available seven days a week.

In Fayetteville, AR:  For a splash pad that’s a little closer to our Ford dealership in Fayetteville, there’s the Walker Park Splash Pad (on W 15th St in Fayetteville), which officially opened for the summer on May 14.  You’ll find buckets and sprayers galore, as well as a skate park right next to it for those who would rather skateboard than splash.  If you’d rather head to the pool, the Wilson Park Pool (at North Park Avenue) opened on Saturday, May 28th.  You’ll have swim times every afternoon throughout this 2022 summer season.

In Fort Smith, AR: For a quick road trip to the south, and a day FULL of fun and attractions, you can head to Fort Smith and check out the Parrot Island Waterpark.  They’re open weekends through Memorial Day weekend, then open every day through August after that.  You’ll find a full roster of fun here, with a Wave Pool, Kiddie Pool and activity area, a Lazy River, multiple waterslides, along with food, gifts, and cabanas to rest out of the sun in between all the attractions.
