The Service Porter / Lot Attendant plays a critical role in maintaining vehicle flow, dealership organization, and service department efficiency. You will help move vehicles, maintain shop cleanliness, assist technicians and service advisors, and ensure a safe and professional customer experience.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Safely move vehicles between service drive, service bays, parking lot, and wash area

  • Support vehicle check-in and customer vehicle delivery

  • Maintain cleanliness of the service shop, service lanes, and customer waiting areas

  • Wash, vacuum, and prepare customer vehicles

  • Fuel vehicles and assist with jump-starts as needed

  • Install protective seat covers and floor mats

  • Assist technicians with non-mechanical support tasks

  • Park and secure vehicles properly

  • Follow all dealership safety policies and procedures

  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude

Automotive Technician

The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining customer vehicles to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to perform routine maintenance as well as complex mechanical and electrical repairs in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards. The Service Technician works collaboratively with service advisors and the parts department, maintains accurate repair documentation, and delivers high-quality workmanship while adhering to all safety and warranty guidelines.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an automotive service technician or mechanic preferred, but not required.

  • Formal automotive training or certification from an accredited automotive program preferred.

Certifications & Licenses

  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications highly preferred.

  • Manufacturer-specific certifications (Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram) preferred.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, suspension, braking, and exhaust systems.

  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment, including OBD-II scanners and advanced diagnostic technology.

  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately and efficiently.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Satisfies the transportation needs of used-vehicle purchasers.
  • Approaches, greets and helps or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot.
  • Assists customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses. Suggest alternative vehicles if necessary.
  • Understands the terminology of the automobile business and keeps abreast of changes in product technology, incoming inventory, features, accessories etc.
  • Provides thorough product information and demonstration to all prospects.
  • Offers test drives to all prospects. Follows dealership procedure to obtain proper identification from customer before test drive begins.
  • Exhibits a high level of commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Utilizes dealership sales control and follow-up system.
  • Knows and understands the federal, state and local laws which govern retail auto sales.
  • Establishes personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity and devises a strategy to meet those goals.
  • Knows and understands equity and values and can explain depreciation to the customer.
  • Ensures that the sales manager has an opportunity to meet each customer.
  • Turns 100 percent of closed deals to finance and insurance manager and presents properly completed paperwork (i.e., insurance information, trade title etc.).
  • Prepares sold vehicles for customer delivery (i.e., cleans vehicles, fills gas tank and ensures all features are operational) prior to customer arrival.
  • Delivers vehicles to customers, ensuring that the customer understands the vehicle's operating features, warranty and paperwork.
  • Introduces customers to service department personnel to emphasize to them the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership's service department.
  • Schedules first service appointment.
  • Follows up on all post-delivery items, tag/title work, "we-owes," and special requests to be sure that all customer expectations are met.
  • Maintains an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains a prospect development and follow-up system.
  • Works with the service department and body shop to ensure that vehicles are properly reconditioned on schedule.
  • Attends sales meetings.
  • Helps with the used-vehicle inspection process.
  • Helps to keep the used-vehicle department neat and clean.
  • Maintains a professional business appearance.
  • Writes complete sales orders and processes paperwork in accordance with established dealership policies.
  • Reviews and analyzes actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively.

Lewis Auto Group is seeking to add an experienced Fleet Sales Manager (Commercial Automotive Sales) to grow and manage our commercial and business fleet accounts. This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission, providing income stability with strong upside.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintains contact with federal, state, and/or local government agencies and utilities to secure fleet business, actively utilizing the bidding process.
  • Solicits commercial fleet accounts.
  • Ensures quality deliveries of all fleet sales.
  • Acts as source for national and local courtesy deliveries (supplying specifications as needed for orders).
  • Provides out-of-stock service for fleet accounts and local leasing companies in conjunction with new-vehicle department manager.
